Much like other similar sites, ScanCBUS doesn't provide public access to any police tactical channels, SWAT channels, hospital channels, etc., for both liability reasons and officer safety concerns. However, if you are a first responder, you can verify your account with me to gain access to these talkgroups as well as extended historical access. To verify, please send an email to admin@scancbus.com.
Most of the time, this is simply because there is no active chatter on that talkgroup. Sometimes (especially in suburban areas), there may be no radio traffic for over an hour, particularly at night. Occasionally, there may be an issue with the site. If you think something is wrong, feel free to reach out to me at admin@scancbus.com.
If it’s a Public Safety talkgroup in Franklin or Delaware County, it’s probably already on the site. Check out the "Talkgroup Search" page under the "Other" section in the menu. If the talkgroup is for a county adjacent to Franklin, I plan on adding coverage for those areas eventually. However, anything beyond those counties or not related to public safety is outside the scope of the site and likely won't be added.
Use the maps below as a guide. Each map shows the respective Zones or Battalions for Columbus Police and Fire.
