Why can't I listen to police tactical channels?
Much like other similar sites ScanCBUS doesn't provide public access to any police tactical channels, SWAT channels, Hospital channels, etc for liability reasons as well as officer safety issues. However if you are a first responder you can verify your account with me admin@scancbus.com to receive access to these talkgroups as well as extended historical access.
Why am I not hearing anything?
Most of the time this is just because there is no chatter on that talkgroup, sometimes (especially in the suburbs) there may not be any radio traffic for over an hour (mainly at night). On occasion there may be an issue with the site, if you think something is wrong please email me at admin@scancbus.com
Can you add X,Y,Z talkgroup?
If its a Public Safety talkgroup and its in Franklin or Delaware county its probably already on the site, check out the "Talkgroup Search" page under Other in the menu.
Otherwise if its for a county adjacent to Franklin I plan on having all of those counties covered eventually, anything beyond those counties or not public safety related is outside the scope of the site, and thus likely won't ever be on here.

Use the maps below as a guide, Each map shows the respective Zones or Battalions for Columbus Police and Fire.
Some helpful notes :
MECC is the Fire Dispatch for Gahanna/Mifflin Township, Jefferson Twp, Plain Twp/New Albany, Truro Twp/Reynoldsbug, Violet Twp/Pickerington, and Whitehall.
NRECC / NorthWest is the Fire and Police Dispatch for Worthington, Dublin/Washington Twp, Hilliard/Brown Twp, and Upper Arlington.
SW/Grove City handles Fire and Police Dispatch for Grove City Police, Jackson Twp Fire, Pleasant Twp Fire, and Prairie Twp Fire.
Columbus Fire dispatches Clinton Twp Fire, Hamilton Twp Fire, Grandview Heights Fire and Madison Twp Fire.
Franlin County Sherrifs Office dispatches most of the Township police departments, If you can't find it under the talkgroups list, then its dispatched by FCSO.
