1. Acceptance & Updates

   Using ScanCBUS constitutes acceptance of these Terms and the Privacy Policy. We may update these documents—major changes will be highlighted—and continued use implies agreement to the revised terms.

2. Description of Service

   ScanCBUS provides curated, live and archived trunked public safety radio audio (dispatch talkgroups) and accompanying metadata. We are not affiliated with any governmental or public safety agency.

   The site is for informational and personal use only.

   We reserve discretion to modify, limit, or remove content or features at any time.

3. Account & Eligibility

   Accounts are available for individuals 18+ or those of legal age in their jurisdiction.

   Paid accounts and first-responder accounts require truthful registration information.

   You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and all associated activity.

4. Content Usage & Restrictions

   You may not:

   • Use content for unlawful or harmful purposes.
   • Redistribute or rebroadcast audio or metadata.
   • Misuse the Service to interfere with public safety processes or surveil individuals.

   We prohibit access to or redistribution of tactical, SWAT, investigative, medical, or otherwise private communications.

5. Service Access & Conduct

   Anonymous listening is supported, but accounts are required for paid or first-responder benefits.

   Automated scraping or data mining of content is forbidden.

   We may suspend or remove access for violations at our discretion—without liability.

6. Payments & Billing

   Payments are processed through Stripe; ScanCBUS does not store credit card data.

   Complimentary first-responder accounts are available upon verified request.

7. Audio & Data Retention

   Audio recordings and metadata are retained per internal schedules (e.g., 30–90 days based on system capacity). We retain the right to remove recordings at any time and for any reason, without notice.

8. Information Collected & Privacy

   Data we collect:

   • Account information: name, email (for registered users).
   • Usage logs: including IP address, browser/device, session duration.
   • Cookie data: for login sessions and analytics.
   • Public safety system metadata: including timestamps and talkgroup IDs.

   We do not sell or rent any personal data. We share information only with:

   • Stripe for payments.
   • Google Analytics for anonymized usage tracking.
   • Hosting/CDN providers for content delivery.
9. Cookies & Google Analytics

   We use Google Analytics to monitor site performance (e.g., session length, page views).

   Cookies support user sessions and analytics functions.

   Users may disable cookies via browser settings or opt out of Analytics using the official opt-out tool.

10. Security & Data Protection

    While we employ reasonable technical safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute protection against breaches or unauthorized access.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

    The Service is offered “as-is” and “as-available.” No warranty is given for uninterrupted access or perfect accuracy.

    Radio communications may be delayed or incomplete; do not rely on ScanCBUS for emergencies.

12. Liability Limitation

    To the maximum extent permitted by law:

    • We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
    • Our total liability is limited to any subscription fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months (if applicable).
13. Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ScanCBUS LLC, its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims and legal costs arising from your use or misuse of the Service.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, U.S. Disputes will be resolved exclusively in courts located in Franklin County, Ohio.

15. Termination

    We may suspend or terminate access—anonymous or registered—at any time, for any reason. Termination may result in loss of access to services or features.
